Expert Realtors Give Their Best Advice for Home Buyers

Homebuyernation.com is a reputable source for first-time homebuyers and provides information for anyone looking to purchase property or obtain a mortgage. Recently, owner Scott Riley composed a list from 32 of the country’s most popular real estate agents on their best advice for home buyers. The list is extensive and covers everything from how to choose a real estate agent to obtaining a mortgage and the best way to take out a home loan. Here are some of our favorites from the list.Experts Realtors Give Their Best Advice for Home Buyers

Walid Muhammad said to get in sync with your agent. Walid says that many buyers simply find an agent and start looking at homes. A good agent will get in tune with what the buyer really wants, the budget they’re trying to stick within, and only show the homes that really makes sense for the buyer. When the buyer and their agent are both in sync working toward a common goal, the entire process can happen that much quicker and easier.

Paula Henry’s advice was don’t fall in love. She states that first-time home buyers should check their emotions at the door. It’s easy to fall in love with the rehabbed home featuring all the finishes they desire but most likely this is the home they will pay top dollar for and it will take longer to realize any equity. First-time buyers have to consider the long-term; they will probably be moving up sooner than they anticipate and they should always consider the future cost to sell versus their equity gained.

Raj Qsar had some great points about stop looking for the perfect home. You’ll never find the perfect kitchen, the perfect backyard or the perfect bathroom so instead look for a home that you can picture yourself in for the next 5 to 10 years. Can you see yourself in the living room, the kitchen, bedroom with your personal touch on the items?

James Akers Jr has some great points about taking other people when you’re viewing property. It may not be the best idea to drag along mom and dad when viewing property. Remember, you’re the one that’s going to live there, not them. The more people you bring along the more opinions you’re going to have on the property. Only have the people that are living there Along with you when viewing property. If you love it that’s what matters.

This list has a lot of great tips and input for first-time homebuyers. We’ll touch on some more later in the week.
